Educational Qualification required for TN Police SI (Technical) vacancy 2018:

Cut-off date for educational qualification is 11.07.2018.

Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering (DECE) (minimum second class marks) (10+3 or 10+2+2)

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) (BSc / BE / BTech) (10+3+3 or 10+2+2+3 or 10+2+4)

Physical Fitness Qualification required for TN Police SI (Technical) vacancy 2018:

Men candidates Height (SC / SCA / ST) 160 cms

Men candidates Height (BC / BCM / MBC / UR) 163 cms

Men candidates Chest Normal 80 cms ; Expansion 5 cms.

Women / Transgender Candidates Height (SC / SCA / ST) 152 cms

Women / Transgender Candidates Height (BC / BCM / MBC / UR) 154 cms

Age limit :

Cut-off date for age calculation is 01.07.2018

Minimum age limit is 20 years.

Maximum age limit as follows :

30 years for BC / BC Muslims / MBC / DNC candidates.

33 years for SC / SCA / ST candidates.

35 years for Destitute Widow from all communities.

45 years for Ex-serviceman and Internal (i.e. Tamilnadu Police Department) candidates.

About Transgender Candidates:

Transgender candidates are eligible to apply SI(Technical) 2018 examination.

1. Transgender candidates may decide their self-identified gender anyone such as male or female or as third gender. If a Transgender candidate applies under third gender should upload an Identity Card obtained from the Tamil Nadu Transgenders Welfare Board
2. If the transgender candidate opt male category should participate in the Physical Measurement Test prescribed for male candidates. If a transgender candidate choose the gender as female should participate in the Physical Measurement Test prescribed for female candidate.
3. If transgender candidate applies under Third gender and will be treated like women candidate. The 30% reservation will apply to them
4. If the transgender candidates produce their community certificate they can get the beneficiary of communal reservation like other candidates
5. If the transgender candidates does not produce their community certificate, they will be treated as Most Backward Class category

Exam and Marks allotment Details :

Exam Fee Rs.500 for all.

Exam will be conducted as Online Computer Baste Test or Written Exam. 

Total time duration for this exam is 3 hours.

Total 180 multiple choice questions will carry 0.5 marks each.

General Knowledge 30 marks.

Technical subject knowledge 50 marks.

5 marks will be provided for additional educational qualification.

5 marks will be provided for NCC / NSS / Sports / Games (applicable only for OPEN candidates).

5 marks will be provided for National Police Duty Meet / Gold / Silver / Bronze awardee (applicable only for INTERNAL POLICE candidates).

10 marks will be provided for Personal Interview.

Total 100 Marks.

Additional Educational Qualification Marks details :

ME / MTech Communication Systems (2 years) - 2 marks

BE / BTech ECE (4 years) - 2 marks

BE / BTech CSE /IT (4 years) - 3 marks

MCA (3 years) - 2 marks

BCA / BSc CS / IT (3 years) - 2 marks

PG Diploma in Computer (1 year) - 1 mark

Additional Marks for NCC etc details :

One Year Member / “A” certificate - 0.5 mark

NCC “B” Certificate - 1 mark

NCC “C” Certificate / Under Officer Best Cadet in All India level - 2 marks

Additional Marks for NSS etc details :
