• Translation Officer in Official Language (Legislative) wing of Law Department; Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service -  4 Posts - Basic Pay 56100 plus allowances in Tamil Nadu State Pay Matrix Level 22 - Bachelor's Degree in Law (BL / LLB) / MA Tamil ; Proficiency# in Tamil
• Translator in Official Language (Legislative) wing of Law Department; Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service -  12 Posts - Basic Pay 53400 plus allowances in Tamil Nadu State Pay Matrix Level 16 - Bachelor's Degree in Law (BL / LLB) / MA Tamil ; Proficiency# in Tamil

# : ‘Proficiency in Tamil’ means translate Legislative Bills, Acts, Ordinances etc., from English into Tamil, and vice versa.

Age limit details :

• Minimum age limit is 18 years should have completed.
• There is no maximum age limit for SC / SCA / ST / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC candidates and Destitute Widow of all communities.
• Maximum age limit for UR candidates is 30 years.

Examination Details :

Two papers in MCQ type of examination.
Paper I : Descriptive Type : English to Tamil Translation work. 300 marks ; 3 hours.

1. State Acts, Bills, Ordinances, Rules and Notifications made thereunder
2. Central Acts, Ordinances , Rules and Notifications made thereunder.
3. Legal Terms / Legal maxims.

Paper II :  General Studies (Degree Std Level) 75 MCQs ; Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (10th Std Level) 25 MCQs
There is no negative marking system.
Examination Centres : Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Thirunelveli, Thanjavur, Salem.
